THE INFINITY COLUMN - CONSTANTIN BRANCUSI

Constantin Brancusi was a Romanian sculptor, painter and photographer. Considered a pioneer of modernism, one of the most influential sculptors of the 20th-century, Br�ncuși is called the patriarch of modern sculpture.

The Sculptural Ensemble of Constantin Br�ncuși at T�rgu Jiu is an homage to the Romanian heroes of the First World War. The ensemble comprises three sculptures: the Table of Silence, the Gate of the Kiss and the The Infinity Column, on an axis 1,300 m (4,250 ft) long, oriented west to east. The ensemble is considered to be one of the great works of 20th-century outdoor sculpture.

Great photo Mioara! You captured a wonderful perspective. The motion of the bird provides a perfect contrast to the static sculpture, while the bird itself reveals the tremendous scale of the Infinity Column.
